This summer the color palates of blues, purples and wine colored wedding flowers was very popular...to me they scream summer berries!! I just love the the cascade in this bouquet!! The texture in this with the calla, delphinium and the peonies as the the focal point, stunning don't you think??

This summer was a smashing success!! I am so sorry to have taken so long to blog about them!! I promise to blog on a more regular basis..I have so many beautiful bouquets to show you!!! This stunner was a mix of our fresh flowers most of which we grew at the cutting garden this summer!! I love to mix the heights on centerpieces half tall half low!! Especially in a fantastic room like this!

Bridal Show

PDN Bridal Show is upon us again!!! It will be on March 7th at 10am....Elks Club, Port Angeles...We are doing the stage decor for the fashion show...this year the venue is much more intimate than in years past, our contribution to the show will be a living chandelier!! A three tier piece, full of fresh flowers in white, creams and yellows, feathers and crystals...The theme is a wedding made in Heaven...I chose the round shape to emulate halos and the colors to give it a real heavenly feel .......Im shooting for a real show stopper!!! I will post pictures! We are going to be offering a bridal show special, our booth will be full of fabulous pictures of our flowers......accompanied by examples of my work... so come see us!!! Can't wait to see you!!

Winter centerpieces

The winter season is a good time to experiment with other textures in your centerpieces it doesn't have to just be our traditional holiday favorites like evergreens and holly. For your holiday table or your winter weddings...Fruit is FUN!!! look at this cut open papaya, the soft peachy color and black seedy center perfect eye candy. Other fruity favorites are, tangerines, grapes, apples, pears and limes...I also love to use walnuts, Cinnamon sticks or mossy branches....Winter may seem to be cold and barren in the garden, but our table scape's are far from it...make yours abundant, lush, use colored glass or your mothers silver serving bowl as a flower container...its all in the details, use ornaments for favors or napkin rings...express yourself and create memories!!!

Fall Centerpiece

This fall centerpiece I had the pleasure of doing in California, I picked 90% out of my mother in laws garden, yes in November...I found rosemary, Ivy, acorns, verbena, grasses, leaves, pods, and a few beautiful bloomers I was unfamiliar with...I added some roses from the local market and turned her once wood candle holder into a 4ft long rustic thanksgiving centerpiece..You can turn any candle holder into a centerpiece if you have the right mechanics... I filled the holes with a foil lining and added wet oasis, then created each little arrangement to flow into the next to make one cohesive arrangement..add some vines for movement and some sunflowers for show... Since I was unfamiliar with some of the flowers and foliage, and the mechanics were such that it could not hold extra water... I did not expect it to last more than a day, like most event flowers they need to be at full show for only a moment..but to my surprise it was still beautiful when we left for home 4 days later...

The flowers and everything at the Cutting Garden were so amazing. It really made for our perfect day! My family and friends all really loved your gardens as well and I received several compliments on the bouquets. This is what I am planning on using as my card, I played with the effects and I really like this one...it embodies everything we are trying to do at the cutting garden, amazing variety and texture using garden flowers mixed with the classic wedding varieties to create a "Garden Couture" look...stylish, romantic yet cutting edge..and I read that the the popular color palate range for next season is going to be from plum to violet... give me feed back.....
